VTT is a general-purpose dictation utility, suitable for all ages. It contains no objectionable content, no advertising, no social features, and no user-generated content feeds. The app only turns the user's own speech into text on their own Mac.
01What the app does
VTT converts the user's own voice into text and types it into the app they are using. All content that passes through VTT originates from the user themselves — there is no content produced by us or by other users to view, browse, or share.
02Content in the app
- No objectionable content. The app's interface contains no violence, profanity, sexual content, gambling, or substance references.
- No user-generated content from others. There are no feeds, chats, comments, or sharing features. The only "content" is the user's own dictated text, visible only to them.
- No advertising. The app shows no ads of any kind.
- No web browsing. The app does not embed a browser or display web content.
03Privacy & safety for younger users
VTT requires no account, collects no personal data, and includes no analytics or tracking — see the Privacy Policy. By default speech is processed on-device and never leaves the Mac. Optional cloud transcription engines exist but require deliberately entering a paid third-party API key, which is not something a child can do casually.
04Purchases
VTT is free to download and use within a daily limit. The only purchase is a single auto-renewable subscription (“Unlimited Dictation”) handled by Apple’s App Store payment system, which honors macOS parental controls such as Ask to Buy and Screen Time purchase restrictions.
